I just absolutely do not understand why people are so scared of imigration. *tory mode on* They steal our jobs, drain our services, make us pay more tax, cause crime, contribute nothing to society and scare our children. *tory mode off* Whoa, tory mode is fucking scary, I ain't doing that one again. Shows what a bunch of cunts they are though.

This is taken from an outline of the Conservative Party Manifesto
On Immigration: Tighter control of the borders through the establishment of a British Border Control Police. Introduce a points based system for work permits. Reclaim national control of asylum policy from Brussels, and withdraw from the 1951 Geneva Convention. An objective of a fixed number of refugees from UNHCR. Asylum applications processed outside Britain. Each year Parliament would set a fixed quota for asylum seekers.
Um.....isn't the Geneva Convention a good thing?
I don't trust them one bit, not one bit.

This is taken from an outline of the Conservative Party Manifesto On Immigration: Asylum applications processed outside Britain. Imagine the situation: Help, I'm being persecuted and must leave the country now!!! Sorry, but you have to get it processed in your country, this may take several months as we assess your value to our nation. Aaaarrrggggghhhh!!!

And this is taken from an outline of the Labour Party Manifesto.
On Immigration: A pledge to establish a points system for migrants, based on the skills they possess, and including a language test. Introduce civil penalties for employers of up to £2,000 per illegal immigrant they employ. A re-newed commitment to introduce ID cards.
Look, I'm sorry Mohammed, or what ever your name is. I'm affraid we can't really offer you or your family any help until you can prove to us the you can play the spoons competentley.
S-p-o-o-n-s......can you spell that for us?
*controversial typo.

A lot of this Labour immigration stuff was just a knee jerk reaction to the Tories plans which were getting them support in Middle England.
I wish the parties would reflect their own true views instead of jumping on each other all the time.

Not really wanting to defend the labour party, but I believe the points system they are intending to introduce refers to economic migrants (e.g. people who want to come to the UK to work, many of them from eastern europe) and not political assylum seekers running for their lives (immigrants). I could be wrong on this, but that's how I understand it.
But yeah, fuck tha tories for trying to make political capital by appealing to peoples basest fears and prejudices. Bastards.

Yeah perhaps. But I think I'd want to know the details/technicalities of this scheme before it has my support.

under this government there have been a few utterly astounding cases, so I fear for the world if the Tories get in:
Congolese man's application turned down because when militants broke into the room he was in and fired indiscriminately "they were firing indiscriminately and thus not aiming at you in particular".
Colombian family sent back, father shot 2 weeks later.
Albanian seized from foster family, no contact with them or girlfriend for i think at least 2 weeks to tell them what had happened.
there's more too.
I think it's disgraceful that you can turn anyone away, as long as they don't have a significant criminal record or a contagious disease.
Think about this - what would Europe do if the whole of Africa started marching north?

There was actually a dodgy TV drama where exactly that happened! What happened in that was they were shot down in cold blood crossing the Med. That had the ring of truth.

Asylum seekers are given less than basic income support. They are given 30% below the mark that establishes poverty level. During this they aren't allowed to work.
Last year the figure was £2billion contributed to the economy by them.
Half of one percent of the worlds refugees have stated a desire to come to Britain.
If we're going to close the borders I say do it retroactively using a time machine. That way we might stop that slimy creep Michael Howard from ever existing.

Anyone want to start a band?
i want to get really big and then write a song called "All Tory Voters Are Greedy Cunts" and play it live at Glastonbury. Repeatedly, for an hour.

I'll join your band.
I can sing and play keyboards, both badly though...
If the people who go to Glasto's parents knew we were playing though they would try to lynch us!
