that zimbabwean woman is spot on. as the son of an immigrant, i can often make people pretty much shit themselves, as being white and well-spoken they don't realise that they're saying hideously xenophobic things to someone affected by this debate. christ, the amount of times i've had people trying to backpeddle once i bring out the "well my dad's an immigrant" line... I think on the Channel 4 news last night John Snow did a good job of confronting the Conservative minister for Immigration.
Certainly put him in his place.

Anyone seen that Conservative candidate who's taken photos of himself on a rally to let an immigrant family stay inthe UK, and then photoshopped in a diffferent message; from "let them stay" to "Imigration: Order not Chaos". What a knocker.

I like how on C4 they don't allow politicians to avoid questions and spout rhetoric, they just interrupt and ask again. My mum thinks it's rude. But I think politicians get away with not saying anything except carefully planned propoganda way too much.

It was covered on my local news and the actual family who were the subject of the campaign were on there. They totally lambasted him. Black comedy story of the day. (An interesting aside: as one guy on the BBC news put it, Flight gets sacked for telling the truth, this guy gets continuing support for lying to the electorate in a blatant, insensitive and above all insulting way...) |

That just makes me hate Tories even more. Earlier I was heckling their broadcast very loudly. Utter cunts, they can all die for all I care. "I mean, how hard is it to clean a hospital?" HOW THE FUCK WOULD YOU KNOW?! It's really fucking difficult, especially seeing that the Tories privatised all the cleaning groups when they were last in so they cut corners on wages and materials. Plus there'll be no cleaning staff as he'll stop the only people willing to do back-breaking labour for minimum wage from entering the country.
