I always wanted to be the childlike empress from Neverending story. I used to wear necklaces hung down my forehead like she did.
I still want to be her. *goes off to find a necklace*

Fantasy:
I'm taking this to mean traditional Sword and Sorcery Fantasy, rather than just stuff like Superheroes or Horror, although Time Bandits rocks if it counts.
It's actually pretty difficult, I love it as a genre, read my way through huge tomes and series when I was a kid, but never really saw any films that had what I'm after. Willow has some great moments, I sneakily like Excalibur, and of course LOTR is fantastic, but they just don't push my buttons in the way some SF does.
Science Fiction:
Most of my favourite films fall into this category (Solaris (Tarkovsky), Brazil, Bladerunner, Videodrome, Star Wars IV & V, Metropolis, Stepford Wives (1975 version), Akira) but if we're going for more geeky stuff...
I really like 70s distopian films (like Soylent Green, THX 1138, Silent Running,) and 50s stuff (like Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Thing From Another World and The Day the Earth Stood Still) and an honourable mention for David Lynch's Dune.
Yes I am a geek. I'll stop now.

yeah pricess bride and flight o dragon are amazing. dark crystal and legend too I love the Dark Crystal. Think it's the only film I've ever gone to see at the cinema twice. It will probably look really dated now, but when I was 11 the effects seemed very impressive... and I was in tears at the end.
