I'd rather burn in hell for all eternity.

Nope.
Never seen an episode of the original series either.
Wanna make something of it?

Yes. I saw it yesterday.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Who wants some? I'll take you all on. Except JB because he has the power to ban me.

As I've said before in another time and place, I'm not a fan of the mann. I saw 'Everything is Illuminated' last night. Very good indeed. Elijah Wood has chosen his films quite wisely after LOTR, I reckon.

Really? It's good? Why. I was expecting some Starsky & Hutch style Hollywood travesty.

I've not seen that.
I haven't seen Green Street but I can't see that being a particularly wise choice.
I'm a Michael Mann fan and this is by no means his best film but there are moments in the film that are stunning. It is also one of the most beautiful films to look at, I've seen in a while. I'm not sure if it's all shot on DV but it's incredibly impressive. It's top class entertainment.
On the debit side, the plot is rudimentary and some of the dialogue is incomprehensible (I blame Colin Farrell). It also contains some of the worst music I've heard in a film for ages. I'm not sure what Michael Mann was thinking, his updating of the original series is quite confusing. The film finishes with a nu-metal cover of 'In the Air Tonight'.

BG Film fact:
The director who made Green Street was working in our office on her first post-Green Street project. She was thoroughly moody and walked out on the film less than a week before it was due to shoot.
Most of the office went to see it but I was put off it by her.

Yeah, I saw it, it was pretty cool, nice cinematography. Enough Chris Cornell on the soundtrack though.

Yep, the soundtrack is dire.
Some of the scenes are gripping, aren't they? Like when they raid the trailer park.

It's awful. Farrels moustache makes me want to vomit and EVERY scene remotely associated to sex is soundtracked by Audioslave
Nothing actually happens in the first hour and a half, either

Farrell's moustache and haircut is awful but it's Colin Farrell, what did you expect.
Nothing happens? Are you sure?

Well some speedboats whizz about a bit but other than that it's pointless and clichéd character development
