So my love for German cinema (which spans about 6 films so could hardly be called a love, more of a preference really) reminded me, when browsing some hugely big store on some hugely populated street, that I should buy The Experiment for £3.99.
I then went home and got a bit pissed and watched it.
WOAH.
Anyone else?

I like Win Wenders films... Wings Of Desire is one my favourite ever. Not seen The experiment.

Why does nobody care about Das Experiment? It is, quite possibly, the best film I have ever seen.
I have awful taste in films though.

I've not seen it but I've read up on the "experiment" that it was based on. I remember BBC 2 showing it along with there version of the "experiment". It was 2 years ago, or more, and brain hurts when I try and think of the past. Wings of Desire is the only Wim Wenders film I have seen and it is very good. Casting Peter Falk was a great idea.
I have mostly been watching rubish American 80's horror films at the moment. Things like Night of the creeps, Xtro, The Burning, etc.. The one I want to mention is The Mutilator, because it is a hidden gem. What happens when a group of college students go for a short holiday at one of there dads beach house? Did I not mention that the boy killed his mum with a shotgun, by accident? Did I not mention that the dad never really forgave his son? Did I not mention that the beach house has a massive tool shed filled with fucking tree saws? The acting is just amazing! Just catch the scene where one of the cheeky students tries to out wit the shopping clerk. Or the set up, where the one boy doesn't really want to go to the beach side property, but his friends manage to talk him into it. He looks at the camera and gives a "hey you guys" kind of look. And the death of Mike is beautiful! I saw right through his chest and a lingering shot of him corking it, that seems to go on for 2 days.
This is a classic. Anyone want to borrow my DVD? When I say borrow - I will have to crash at your house and watch it with you.

I have seen Das Experiment but I can't remember much about it. Sorry. You are the worst film critic! No wonder The Beeb got rid of you. And giving the film Society turkey of the year was well wrong! You idiot!
