How many people actually watch Big Brother? I only ask after looking at a DiS Big Brother thread and realising that there's only two forums I frequent without an ever-expanmding Big Brother thread. this forum is one: the other is the almost unknown BBC Wales cricket forum. Oh yes indeed.
I don't watch it. I hate it. I'm curious to know the attraction of it to other people.

I've just never got it.
People I know have told me it's because I'm not clued up enough to be intrigued by human interaction. I prefer to actually do that myself rather than by proxy.
No doubt this one will have another shower of egomaniacs who'll be given record contracts and tv presenting slots when it's all over and will quickly sink without a trace, apart from the tabloids and their associated magazines, who'll keep everyone up to date with their bodily functions or whatever.
Bah.

I've managed to avoid it so far, despite my housemate being a big fan. I'm proud of myself.

I don't watch it. But I'm never in on Friday nights and I don't tend to watch TV anyway. I think I would if I did.

I watch it. I watch it all the time. I watch it in my sleep. I like to watch.
I've always been a fan, I haven't got into this year's particularly, but we've now got E4 on Freeview, so I just stick it on as background to working on the computer and it's great, you don't have to keep up with any plot, and it's just a comforting background noise. The adverts are a bit of a pain of course, so i just keep the mute button handy.
I think the standard reason why people like it is either just that people are interested in other people, and it's a way of tapping into that without interfering with your everyday relationships. It's also an interesting anthropological study, you get to see group dynamics, body language, all that stuff that helps you see how people in your own life interact.
If you really want to know the appeal for me, it's largely the evil experiment side of things. Partly I identify with Big Brother, manipulating the lab rats into making good TV, partly I identify with the people, helplessly at the mercy of unseen forces, judging them and nudging them into Pavlovian responses. I want reward. I don't want to be punished. I'll be a good rat.
Plus I like to see a bunch of attractive, confident, popular people be slowly destroyed as they realise they're not in control of everything.

Seriously, is that bloke Science his real name?
I just can't imagine:
Nurse "well done, it's a lovely bouncing boy"
Mum "What shall we call him?"
Dad " Well if it wern't for the miracle of science then the baby and the mother might not have been safe so we should call him Science"
Mum (obviously in state to agree to anything) Ok Science it is.

Oh and Big Brother, it's bollocks.
It could be an intresting social experiment obviously out of the reach of normal research due to ethics but it turns into just some boring drivel.
They should give each contestant individual tasks (which have to be kept private) like kicking someone else in the balls. If they suceed they get a reward. How good would that be?

I would rather listen to Kea"ihatefuckingkeane"ne and The Others than watch Big Brother.
Not the Sugababes though. Nothing could be that bad.

Science reminds me loads of this character we've got around Cardiff called Ninjah (and YES that IS his real name!).
