I've seen his name (ooh check me, finally realised he's not a girl!) bandied about a bit so I picked up the album lovely and cheap and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. THOROUGHLY. It makes me feel warm inside.
So..
a) What do you think
and
b) come on, who else thought he was a girl initially?

a) i havent heard anything by him. What does he sound like?
b) yep me too, although it was more a case of not being sure what he was rather than presuming he was a girl.

my one convo about Banhart:
"have you heard this guy Devendra Banhart?"
"no"
----------------------------------- this answers both queries.

I thought he was a girl.
He/she's also playing Cardiff at some point soon. I may just stroll down, might have to fund some terrorists first..

Er I put soulseek on that apps click bar at the bottom. So it's liek totally easy to fire it up. Sorry, it's not good etiquette to mess with the settings is it.

One of my friends copied the album for me last week without asking me first. Still haven't listened to it yet. Does it fund samosas ?

I also thought he was female until his album got reviewed last year.
Can't say I've ever heard anything by him myself, but he seems to be rather popular.

I've got 'Rejoicing in the Hands' and listened to it again last night. Truth be told I find him hard to get into. I know its the whole point but I find it all a bit eccentric and directionless for my own personal taste. I really love Iron and Wine and find it hard to stop negatively comparing folk musicians to Sam Beam.
And yeah, when i first heard the name I assumed he was a she. Its the A at the end. Try and think of an English man's name ending with A. Anyone??
