The Talking Heads gig, filmed by Jonathon Demme. What a movie! It's slightly flabby with a few too many songs, and they peak early by playing 'Once in a Lifetime' mid-set, but all in all, it's amazing. David Byrne vibrates and pretends to fall over, several times, then dances like a big slippery fish. And the bass woman dances like a crab with her legs akimbo. Very unladylike, but pretty funny.. IT MUST BE SEEN! Me & SCL watched it the other night.

i like the bit with starting with an empty stage and a portable tape player.
Does the suit get bigger during the film?

I bought it in Fopp for a 5er a few months ago. I think we've watched it more than any other DVD we have (with the possible exception of a Futurama box set, but that doesnt count cos there's liek, 4 discs or something, whateva!).
It's amazing. I love it when they do This Must Be The Place and he's got that lamp or whatever it is, it's great. And as Mr Milgram mentioned, the acoustic Psycho Killer + boom box at the start is amazing, especially when he stumbles around in time with the beat going crazy. I love the way all the various people come in as the thing progresses. It's just great. Might watch it again right now actually.
There's also a good recent David Byrne DVD, of a show he did in some church in Islington recently. Plays some of the old 'Heads classics -Life During Wartime, Once In A Lifetime, and Vwwwoad To Nowhwere.

Does the suit get bigger during the film? He gets a comedy oversized one towards the end, either for an encore or after the bassist and drummer do their little Tom Tom Club bit.

Never seen this. Didn't realise it was a Demme job, either.
Might seek it out some time...

I could just hear her crying out 'leave me glassies, leave me glassies'.
I've had those big eyeclamp things on. Went up to the hospital hotknifed out of my tree to pick up a prescription for antibiotics, or so I thought. They took one look at my eye, stuck one of those clamps on me and gave me a fullscale eye operation, stoned out of my tits. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Why? Cos you don't notice the pain or just because it feels fucking great?

There's just something lifeaffirming about a very rude female surgeon talking to you like a naughty child, shoving exceptionally large syringe needles into your eye socket and scalpeling away at big strings of flesh she's tweezering out. I don't think it'd be as enjoyable without the preop hotknife treatment.

I stopped taking drugs about 8 years ago, so i guess i'd have to have accupuncture needles shoved in my eyes first to kill the pain of the other needle going in. mmmm. Chien Andalou
