I got TWO hate threads this week!
It really doesn't bother me, but I want DiS back just so we can have proper discussions about music again.
It's a great site, has really good articles/reviews and the format of the forum is excellent. It's just full of twats.

Just read through that Bloc Party and Interpol thread started by Libertines guy. If you want a neat summary of why DiS is a bit crap at the moment, read that - not just for his initial post but for some of the priceslessly moronic replies.

I believe everyone who uses this forum is a dedicared DISer. Therefore i suggest we try and think of some ideas to reclaim it.

Thing is, for every retarded thread that get's started, at least one person is guranteed to reply with something highly original like "fuck off, can't you write proper English?" and it all snowballs from there.

BUT IT IS DOING MY HEAD IN at the moment.

I joined DiS to escape music forums full of arrogant, obnoxious teens. Yes, there were some 14 and 15 year olds, but they were the intelligent ones, whose posts were indistinguishable from older posters.
It was nice.
I liked it.

Where have they all come from? Will they grow up and become human, or is this the future?! This is too depressing for words.

I think the ones that are most annoying are those that you cant tell whether they're serious or not, like wrightylew, timtheenchanter or welshbulb. I can ignore the likes of pop_rules or whatever, but i'd like to debate music with the others as they seem to actually potentially care. Its just that all debates descend to namecalling and petty squabbles...

its because they're young, they haven't grasped the fact that you actually need a decent argument to have a decent debate.
they think that 'i think its shit, therefore its shit' constitutes as a worthwile opinion, when really it just makes them look idiotic.
i know i'm only young too, and have said 'you're shit' often enough, but i hope i at least know that it becomes redundant in a proper debate.
