Well, not quite, but seriously breach their human rights. Those wacky Germans. It really gets my goat when Tories brand all long-term unemployed people as sponging layabouts. There are valid reasons for being unemployed, and I think people should be given the benefit of the doubt in such cases - I guess it comes down to a decision between punishing the innocent and letting the guilty off scot-free, or your general level of misanthropy. What does everybody else think? |

i think the poor should be shot, can't these people smile? When I'm out in my Range Rover all I ever see is glum proles - i'd much rather look at pretty rich people. Poor people smell and I hate them, the lazy fuckwits.

I had someone in my criminology group once who - in their infinite "wisdom" and "tolerance" - decided that poor black kids with, like, no money, education or career prospects might just be people too (her words)...
She really is one of the most clueless people I've ever met though, so I shouldn't be surprised. Living proof that you can be academically great whilst still being a total idiot.

In parts of the west coast of Scotland young males are more likely to spend time in prison than U.S black males of a similar age and social group. Not that this is newsworthy, white males being the only group of people who it's ok to say whatever you like about without banners being waved in response.

The study unveils a postcode link to detention. If you are a male born in a deprived area of Glasgow such as Royston, Ibrox or Pollok you are more likely to spend time in prison than a black man in America - the population traditionally associated with one of the highest levels of imprisonment in the world.
