I vote Nirvana.
Yes they are absolutely overrated but the music is good and for me and many other people my age they were the first band to get us intrested in Rock and 'indie' stuff. For that fact alone they can have my vote.

I can't believe you included the Stone Temple Pilots (the 'bravery' of grunge) and not Soundgarden, who released the best classic rock album since, well, Doolittle probably. But since Led Zep IV before that. Great, great band.
I'm quite offended.

Aye, Black Hole Sun and all that. Hmmmm, Nirvana predictably get my vote though. They made it happen and turned a lot of people on to good sounds. Shame about the amry of kids in hoodies you trip over these days though...

Oh yeah, Soundgarden.
I forgot about them...
says it all really.
Also - STPilots were really good.
They rocked.
They had great songs.
Their unplugged was one of the best.
Bravery? pffffffffffffft
