David Byrne.
(By the way, what does "the deobjectification of music" mean?)

You could maybe also say 'decommodification'.
16? That would be... 1993.
Hmmm.
I can't remember.
That's bad.
I'd like to say Bowie or Byrne but I'd be projecting back rather than being truthful. Probably Kurt Cobain or Eddie Vedder.

I'd like to be Bjork's boyfriend. He is a rich and successful artist who lives in NYC and gets to play with Bjork.

You could maybe also say 'decommodification'. I understand the point. I have always liked having a product, usually a piece of vinyl. No real music reason for this.

Objects bother me.* Maybe because I have amassed so much clutter. I want to live in some kind of white cube minimalist/ futurist flat one day. And just think a lot, and not have to worry about tripping over my fucking hoover in the night, or knocking a big pile of cd's over while scrabbling around for PJ Harvey's Rid Of Me down the back of the shelf. Objects are overrated.
*what follows in not necessarily what I believe, I just feel like saying it.

Portishead - Dummy. such a classic. Bjork - it's hard to know where to start really, everyone likes different stuff. Happy disco weirdness and playful experiments - Debut. Glossy pop and life experience - post. Clanking metal, fierce strings and turmoil - Homogenic. The internal world, crunching snow and and army of choir - Vespertine. Arty glitch-voice messing - Medulla. My personal favourite is Vespertine.

I wanted to be a punk rocker, and I was, so that was nice. I also wanted ro be in a relationship with a girl, but I didn't so that was not so nice. I also wanted to be a marine biologist but I didn't become one. I wanted to be in a band, but I wasn't.

I wanted to be somewhere far, far away from the shit hole town I was growing up in. I had to wait two years but I made it.

When I was 16, I wanted to be an amalgamation of Brett Anderson, Stephen Malkmus, Tjinder Singh, Danbert Nobacon and Tony Yeboah. Only with drums.
This failed to happen for a number of reasons.
