ok, i know im not 17 for ages, but the other day i tried driving for the first time!! ah, twas so cool BUT... I have my fears that i may be a really terrible driver; as soon as i was doing over about 15 miles an hour it felt like i was speeding!! i would *hate* to be another granny on the road so long before my time...

The first time you drive everything does feel so fast.
Personally I hate driving, I always keep thinking "If I turn the wheel just a bit I could kill myself or someone else here" It's so boring and energy sapping as well.
I only have a provisional for ID now, fortunatly all my mates can drive!

Driving's a funny one. After I passed the test, got myself a car, drove everywhere, then the car died, to expensive to fix. So now I walk, but I do sometimes miss the driving. Insured on Papa's now so I get to steal that sometimes.

I didn't go in for the driving thing. And now, living in the big city, I have no need. The only time I ever really feel like I need to be able to drive are on lovely summers days to get to the pub. But then I couldn't drink. So, big up to the train network and all it does for me.

I was looking at a 1947 Matchless 350 trail bike on ebay. Nice to look at but I'm aware that I don't have the proper temperament to be on the road so will be sticking with public transport or my pushbike.

I am a reluctant car owner, I really do need it to get to work, I got it 6 years ago, but events happened and necessetated me getting a Ka, I honestly tried to commute from North Birmingham to warwick via train, but the public transport system at the time was very unsympathetic to my aims. If it had been good or better I would not have got a car.
My mum accused me and Mrs Knees of deliberately getting a car that only had two seats in the back so we could exclude her from trips, God she is so paranoid, it was just a welcome bonus that it only had 4 seats and we could exclude her from trips.
Driving gets to be second nature if you do it a lot, I remember having problems with the clutch when I was young.

I failed my test 3 times then gave up. The Brainlove brain has trouble adhering to any strict system. It was good learning though. Going fast is fun.

Who needs to drive anyway when you can cycle?
It's fun, in cities it's the quickest form of transport and it keeps you fit!
I know that the weather can be shit, you can't carry much, car drivers are bastards, steep hills are hard work and you need to regularly maintain your bike but apart from that it's ace!

I love cycling. ;D I ride my bike to work every day. I take loads of cool back routes and ride along the canal ringing my bell as I go through tunnels, its great fun. Even cycling in the rain is preferable to fighting with the rest of east london for a place on the number 38. I am having driving lessons at the moment though which is also fun. Although, I am a bit worried about being a liability, I already make a fairly absent minded pedestrian. I can't wait to pass and go on loads of road trips. Horray for road trips!

well kinda looks like im on my own on this one, but I LOVE DRIVING. its fantastic. feels great being in controll of something as complex as the mechanical genius of a car.
one of my favourite things to do is to go for a drive in the mountains on a sunny day with the windows down. its such a great feeling.
its so horrible when my car wont start. it doesnt like the wet and refuses to go anywhere if its been raining.

sod driving, socialise with foreigners and the mentally ill on public transport instead! ;D Ah you do get some proper mentalists on the bus. One guy was handing out stolen chocolate to people. My missus and her mates were going "just ignore him". Ignore him?? Fuck that! Had a lovely chat, he offered me Turkish Delight. I asked if he had anything else, got some kind of orange chocolate isntead! Score! He then told me to come see him down the market if I wanted cheap DVDs. Then there's the Bus-Preacher. He just gets on random busses and tells everyone to accept Jesus or go to Hell.

I went down Swanley market the other day, and brought 'Satan's Dog' on DVD. And brilliant it was too. Only £1. Winner.
But I only semi-lobe the sort of people you get on public transport. It can be a bit of a lottery at times, especially on the South London train system. There's only so many Chelsea football thugs I want to sit with.

i got some driving lessons for my birthday, but not actually sent off for my provisional yet. i don't like forms. plus its £35! i could buy stuff with that! crazy people on the train is the BEST THING EVER. when me and pv get the 11.40pm train back from glasgow, there is always a drunk middle aged man who comes and sits with us, even though the rest of the carriage is empty. he always helps us with our crossword too, so that's ok. once we got the table of oldies who were next to us to help us with our crossword too. they were very useful.

The train can be good but I hate how it takes hours upon hours to get anywhere from Plymouth. They actually had a big thing about it only being 3 hours to London after losing an hour somewhere. My last train journey from Plymouth to Leicester took over 7 hours. I fucking felt dead after that.
Why can't flying be cheap, at least it gets you there reasonably quick.
