Yesterday I went for a drive through the wild, half-tamed flatlands of Cambridgeshire. The sun was out but rain clouds were building, purple as the bruise on an Emperor. The fields looked luminescent in the rain-filtered light and the oil seed was sunburst yellow. The windows of the car were down and I put my foot down, head out of the window until the wind almost froze my eyeballs in their sockets. The air smelt of rain and fresh earth and things growing. Love Ends Disaster was playing out of my speakers. I felt amazingly alive and younger than I have since I actually was. The moral? There are two: One, Get out more and stop looking at the computer screen and two, buy the Love Ends Disaster ep. Thank you for your time.

I don't want to lower the tone, because that was the sort of beautiful poetic expression we've come to expect from Durutti, but I had the complete opposite experience the other day.
I was on the toilet after an eye-popping curry experience, when in the background on Xfm I heard Athlete. I don't think I've ever had a worse experience. The moral? There are two: One, If you're going to go out instead of staying in front of the computer, be careful what style of curry you're choosing and two, if you're going to listen to the radio, ensure you're close to the off switch at all times. Thankyou for your time.

Thanks, in the future whenever I wind down my car window, or I visit the 'semi wilds' of cambridgeshire, an image of Bamos being 'unfortunate' will probably haunt me. Although on the bright side that might actually lighten the gloom when I hear 'Athlete'
