I was gonna say bands like Coldplay and K***e - from an entire career, each has one song which will insistently get stuck in my head from time to time. That "YEAAAAH how long must you wait for it" one got deeply lodged. I had to seek therapy. 'tis a good song. It's just the rest of the music, the entire band, and their live show, and their limp-wristed vapidity that does my head in. I would hardly class 'somewhere only we know' as a good song really, but that too was pop enough to get stuck in my head for a few days. But the entire combined quality in the rest of their songs doesn't add up to enough to make me even blink enthusiastically.
(actually Coldplay might have 2 or 3 good songs. But I still really think they are the suckiest of suckers)

i think Bl*nk 182 have a few good songs.
mcfly has that awfully catchy 'its all about you'. i really like it.
