I heard that somebody told me your girlfiriend is a boyfriend shit today and it really got on my nerves. I seriously dislike it. A lot. What a fuckin half-arsed meaningless dirge.

I agree. Their intentions are not to be a serious group with meaningful and deep lyrics, but to create popular dance tunes that make people want to get up and dance. You can't even try taking a band that writes lyrics like, "I had a girlfriend that looked like a boyfriend..."

Man, I'm taking a beating here.
I can't just completely switch my head off when I'm listening to stuff, whether it's just pop or not - I like even pop music to be literate or interesting in some way.
Seems in this case I'm out of step with the majority...

I always liked their singles. But the album grew on me slowly. And I do think they are the best dressed band in England.. which probably means in the world.. and that haircut! *swoons* If only the world had such pristine haircuts. There would be no war. I'm sure of it. Anyway, you creamed over their shiny patent leather shoes at Reading as well waistcoat, I saw ya. And I rememnber in that shoes shop when you went "what's this? i like it" and I laughed because it was FF's "tell her tonight".  |
