I am sorry if I bring the mood down with this one.
I'm not going to go into detail, but was wondering if any of you has had to face the issue of psychosis within their family/circle of friends.
This is my current reality, and I am now realising that it is a massive issue to face and the thought of social services/community health becoming involved is scaring the hell out of me.
This is a genuine request for support/advice. I wasn't going to mention it, but then I thought I should. This is real life afterall.

Fellalady you poor thing.
I have a friend down in brighton who has had to deal with something that sounds like it might be similar. PM me if you wanna chat about it.

Hey Petal,
I wouldn't have the first clue how to deal with this but I'm yours for anything you need emotionally or practically.. I think you're being really brave.

This sounds unpleasant. Not sure about psychosis. Have had to deal with some extremely depressed people, but they weren't really a threat to others, just themselves a little maybe. Does the person have family to help? If it's heading towards sectioning and the medical route then I hear private is a hell of a lot better than state.

Maybe give Mind a call, 0208 519 2122, they should be able to help practically.

Yes, this person has family to help. I hope it does not come to anyone having to be sectioned, but thanks for the advice if it does.
Upon reflection maybe the world wide web was not the best place to have this discussion. I have noticed in the past that people tend to feel uncomfortable and want to keep a distance from this kind of subject. I can fully understand that, because it's not very nice.
Anyway, if at any point any of you find yourself in a similar situation please feel free to contact me. I should be a hardened professional by then.
