I just got 'A Certain Trigger', it's better than I could have hoped for. And is challenging 'Wind In The Wires' as my favourite album of 2005 so far.
Anyone else got it? If so, what are your thoughts?

I've heard about five songs from the album and think that they're alright, but ultimately throwaway idie-pop. I saw them live a few weeks ago and found the experience generally disappointing. I know alot of people think they're fantastic, but I don't really see the appeal

Looks like I'm behind the times, yet again.
I can honestly say I've never heard Maximo Park.
Everyone says they're like The Futureheads, though. True? Or is that the usual lazy jouro comparison machine at work?

They're the same in as much as they're both from the North-East (Maximo Park are Geordies and The Futreheads are Mackems, they probably meet in alleys in the dead of night to fight it out). They both have fairly jerky song structures as well I suppose.

All Over The Shop is my addiction right now...
if they'd trimmed a couple of the dodgier songs it could've been a classic.

I saw them live the other week, and they were very good. I'm looking forward to the album - when's it out for us non-promo plebs?

What is this soulseek of which you speak? If it involves computers and music, then I'm out. CD's all the way please.
Digital music revolution my bum.

I wish I had seen them live. I have only heard the single tracks but man, it was some proper thrilling pop goodness.
"You magnify the way I think about myself, before you came I rarely thought about myself."
Fucking marvellous that is.
