I would give Sideways - 8 (maybe even 9), Closer - 7 and Sexy Beast - 8. Not seen Bullet Boy.

Really? Well, I did enjoy Sideways alot. I'm going to promote it too a 7.5. It would have got an 8, but I didn't like the Miles character for steeling from his mum.
Closer was also very good. You're right. But, it was cold - intentionally I know. I'm moving that to a 7, and I'm moving Bullet Boy down to 7.5. Perhaps not deserving an 8. Thought it did address the escalation of violence quite well, and it was filmed around Hackney. It was fun recognising the locations.
I'm going to stand by Sexy Beast though. Ray Winston and Ben Kingsley were excellent.
Fickle?

Ben Kingsley is excellent in that film, but take him away and you've got a very average brit gangster flick. Very average indeed.
In sideways, Miles stealing from his mum somehow made him an even more sympathetic character to me. Maybe because I still lift £2 from my mum's change pot whenever I'm round there and need to use the bus. As my brother says: 'it's from mum. It's not really stealing is it?'
I'm gonna burn.

I agree about Sexy Beast, if it wasn't for Ben Kingsley and fairly stylish cinematography, it would be an average film. It is gripping at times though.
I can't believe you steal from your mum. I thought better of you. Actually, no I didn't.
