Art Garfunkle's in it? Really? Is the bit in the movie "I scratch your back you scratch my back. You know what I mean" Yossarin knew what he meant. "That's not what I mean" he said as Yossarin started scratching his back.
Wow I really love that book. And now i really want to watch the movie.

God, i posted that IMDB link, but the reviewers are fairly clueless. People don't seem to get it when the form of a piece (art, film, music, etc.) forms part of the content.
Catch 22 is confusing at first viewing, sure, but it is from the pov of Yossarian (like the book kind of) who is fucked by war, capitalism, stupid people, from every direction. Just when you understand something you find you don't, you constantly find yourself thinking about the bloody corpse of a friend you just saw last week while in the middle of a conversation about what's wrong with your tent mate, so you accept your medal in the nude because everything stinks. It works. Fuck them reviewers. Fuck em hard.

I read the book in Cyprus 2 years ago and thought it was utterly brilliant. I'd already seen the film but don't think anyone could really do the book justice.

It is indeed one of the best books written by any member of any sentient race in any universe since the dawn of time.

It's a brilliant book, one of my favourites.
I actually think Nicholls did a good job with it, as well - it's way better than "The Graduate" for my money.

Shall i let you all in on a little secret? I know the words to every Adam Sandler movie*. Not only that I laugh at all the funny bits. Because I find them funny. *Please Note: This excludes Spanglish cause it is not funny and Tea Leone should have been drowned a while ago.

I forgot Clerks.

For me, the best bit in Clerks, is when the old guy's talking about how lightbulbs can give you cancer, says a now dead friend of his used to eat light-bulbs in the circus.
"What, and he got cancer from the light bulbs?"
"No, he was hit by a bus"

There are endlless, endless moments of sheer class in it.
"You get me slapped with a fine, you argue with the customers and I have to patch everything up, you get us thrown out of a funeral by violating the corpse, and then to top it off, you ruin my relationship. I mean, what's your encore? Do you, like, anally rape my mother while pouring sugar in my gas tank?"
Don't even get me started on the Beserker song...
