What was the top 5? i fell asleep, the combination of going out on friday and saturday after the end of exams (WOOOOO!) caught up with me. If some shite like Shaving Ryan's Privates won I'll probably cry. BLACKHAWK DOWN BEAT STRANGELOVE!!!!!

BLACK HAWK DOWN?!?!?
When that made an appearance in the list, that would have been an opportune moment to destroy your television.
Or turn it off whilst tutting.

i did do a double-take, but i was too tired to pick the remote up...
but yes, Blackhawk Down is shite and yet it beat every Kubrick war film bar Full Metal Jacket. Which is Kubrick's worst war film. GAH!

Prepare to weep.
Saving Private Ryan came top.
Second was Apocolypse Now. Second? Barmy.
I think third was Schindler's List... missed most of the rest by watching the Enterprise I hadn't missed taping earlier.
Since when does being most 'realistic' mean being the best movie? That would leave Tarkovski nowhere... and Kubrick. Bonkers.
did anyone notice where Aces High came.... still makes me cry every time.

Didn't watch this as I got hooked by Storyville on BBC Two.
It was this fantastic interview thing with Robert McNamara - US Secretary of Defence during the Vietnam War - who was trying to make some sense out of a life spent killing tens of thousands of people in Asia.
Some of the stuff he came out with about the Cuban Missile Crisis was scarier than anything in Dr Strangelove!

Didn't watch this because I knew it'd be soul-destroying.
Still, "Apocalypse Now" no. 2? It can't be all bad...

I saw that in the cinema a few months ago, it was very interesting.

Don't think my housemate was that impressed I made her sit through the whole thing.
