Has anyone seen it yet?
I've read mixed reviews but usually pay little heed to them. I'm a history geek so usually love anything like this!

Not seen it but I probably will at some point.
It does look a bit naff, but maybe that's the overwhelming disappointment of "Gladiator" still lingering in the back of my mind...

This film is another case of Hollywood twisting history for it's own means. King Baldwin III (the leper) had actually been dead for 2 years before these events happened. He does look kind of cool with the silver mask though.

I thought the film had some decent action sequences and Jeremy Irons was brilliant.
The first third of the film was going pretty well. But when the battles started the story kinda went out the window. And the romance was less epic, more 'my husband's a bastard, so you'll do'.
At the end I didn't really feel that Bloom's character had sufficiently grown or resolved his inner conflicts to make it all worthwhile. Maybe I missed the point.
And yet it was frequently entertaining and never bad enough for me to feel I'd wasted my money. It just doesn't hold up to any serious critical scrutiny.

Why do people fancy orlando bloom? Why?? i can sorta understand it in lotr, but outside of that, & in person, i just don't get the appeal. can any girls explain? i feel i'm the only one who doesn't dig his scrawny self. as for his acting...i won't even start on that.
