We have a great independent cinema in Glasgow called the GFT, Glasgow Film Theatre.
I was doing evening classes at uni this time 3 years ago. I went to the GFT at least twice a week, every week and saw some great movies. All the ones like Ghost World, City Of God, Amalie, The Devils Backbone, It's A Wonderful Life, Throne Of Blood, Annie Hall, Farewell My Lovely, Ichi The Killer, etcetc I saw here.
Went to see The Story Of The Ramones there last week. Previous to that it was The White Stripes Live In Blackpool.
Have seen all kind of films in it, three and a half hour Japanese films, Iranian films, Hungarian documentaries about punk squatters trying to sell boots. Wonderful cinema and the place to go for good movies.

Annie Hall is one of the funniest movies ever made.

I swear there isn't a single throwaway line in that entire film.
"I forgot my mantra."
Hilarious cameos too!

Chris Walken is some kind of scary god also.

It's a 30 second walk just off Sauchiehall Street, Rose Street, I think. Just walk up it towards Nice'n'Sleazys. When you come to the top of the hill, at the traffic light it's to your right hand side. I get a mailout from them, here's a link www.gft.org.uk

we got the soundtrack to la heine in work. its really good. a bit of french hip-hop to lighten the mood ;D
i think somewhere near the top o' the list must be Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (can watch it over and over again) and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Charlie Kauffman is an amazing writer).

Yeah. The coverage of the Oscars got overtaken this year with the Eastwood / Scorsese fight, but if you looked below the fact that the Academy hasn't picked a deserving Best Picture in 5 years, there was a lot of justice done that night. Kaufman's Oscar was richly deserved.

Does the La Haine soundtrack have the Cut Killer mix of KRS1/Edith Piaf on it? I have downloaded that track - well cool bit though where he plays that!
Defo watch it! It's 10 years old now and I guess still as relevant today!
Also to pass the time Nine Queens and L'Appartment are cool.
