ARAB STRAP TO PLAY FOPP IN-STORE
Arab Strap will be making in-store appearances at Fopp Glasgow and Edinburgh this October. The 17th of October will see them playing a semi-acoustic set at the Fopp store on Union Street (Glasgow) at five o‚ clock and the 18th of October will see them playing a semi-acoustic set at the Rose Street (Edinburgh) store at five o‚ clock.
Arab Strap will be supporting the release of their new album, "The Last Romance," their sixth studio album, to be released through Chemikal Underground Records on the 17th of October. in at just over 35 minutes, it‚s shorter than previous Arab Strap outings and with songs like Dream Sequence, Speed:Date and There Is No Ending we‚re confronted with a more buoyant, upbeat and driven Arab Strap than we‚ve heard in quite some time. While retaining Arab Strap‚s knack for vivid and eloquent storytelling, The Last Romance barrells out of the speakers with an assured urgency ˆ engagingly melodic and in some cases, floor-fillingly danceable.
Fopp In-stores have become something of an institution; Arab Strap will be following in the footsteps of Franz Ferdinand, Star(cunting)sailor and Magic Numbers who have all played at Fopp stores in recent years. Fopp‚s ability to provide a platform for cutting edge bands to play to fans across its stores is being developed all the time. At the moment Fopp Nottingham is spearheading providing new facilities, building a new stage to make the in-store experience even better for the bands and their fans.
