Any other guitar geeks out there? Come talk geek talk about your fave bits of gear.
I'm addicted to buying pedals and stuff - but I've gone from the soft stuff like chorus to looping stations and that now! I've even gone onto things like Xylophones too now. What will become of me!?!

For the geeks out there here is a list of gear off the top of my head:
Rickenbacker 4003MB Rickenbacker 4003*ontezuma Hayman1010 Norman Acoustic Aria ProII Acoustic bass Boss DR202 Drum Machine Hartke VXL Bass attack Boss Bass Flanger Boss CEB3 - bass chorus Boss BF2 - flanger Boss CE2 - chorus Boss OC2 - octaver Boss RC 20 XL - Looping station eBow
Obviously I don't get em all out on stage and depending what kinda set/place it use I change 'em about - sometimes using none and sometimes a few.
Amp wise I steal my cousins Laney guitar amp but bas wise I use a Trace GP7300w amp.
The best thing I got thought which I gave to the guitarist is a Yamaha UD Stomp - the delays on this would make Bloc Party and Interpol drool!

Fair trousers, let's be geeks together:
Guitarwise:
Rickenbacker 360 Shine 909 guitar (an affordable Gretsch!) DeArmond X155 archtop (a fantastic jazzbox, DeArmond guitars are awesome). Epiphone Dot (upgraded to Gibson 335 levels with wiring etc) A very fucked up Squier Strat that currently lives in Southampton Yamaha APX5A acoustic guitar SX Precision Bass copy
A couple of Vox amps and a Behringer V-Amp 2 which is getting sold in August. Loads of pedals, no digital stuff at all, gear ranges from a Russian Big Muff to an Analogueman Juicer compressor to a DHA overdrive pedal (Dave Hall makes pedals and sells them on Ebay, the overdrive is fabulous).
A PC running Cubase hooked up to a MIDI unit and a cracking Ensoniq EPS16 synth. I couldn't bring the Ensoniq ESQ-1 synth back from Canada, too heavy, so it'll be here sometime in the future.
Erm.. plectrums, strings tec.. some other stuff littering around here too...

A very fucked up Squier Strat that currently lives in Southampton Really? I should pay it a visit some time I'm not much of a guitar geek really. I only have two: a bog-standard classical guitar and a rather sweet telecaster, in burgandy with a pine fretboard. Mostly I use a Zoom 707 for effects, which will doubtless piss you lot off no end! I do have a couple of nice bits though: a crybaby wah, an Ibanez chorus flange and a Boss blues driver. I also use my Marshall amp distortion, which is nice. And I have an EBow! It's my other instruments that you really wanna hear about though. I also play: Ocarina Panpipes Various flutes / recorders Thumb piano As well as more the conventional keyboard / piano. I gave up 'cello a while back but I'm thinking of taking up the clarinet (again). But for all that my main "instrument" is still my voice. Or possibly my laptop

But I have a Lorenzo electric harmonium, I like playing that bit from 'Terminator' on it, I also have a thumb piano it's lovely for making very fractured sounds on.

I have like a fake flying V that looks cool. Errrrrrrrrrrrrr It was cheap and nasty. I never bought a guitar I truly loved because it would only end up getting trashed and break my heart. although a saw a mint green firebird that was just sex.

Mostly I use a Zoom 707 for effects, which will doubtless piss you lot off no end! Never! You should see my Arion Stereo Chorus pedal.. 10 quid in a pawnshop in Worcester, the battery cable's been yanked out, the top cover is smashed but it sounds great. Still got my Zoom 505, needs a clean.. it's going up on Ebay next week as part of my 'Fuck me, I'm poor' category. Actually my favourite effect at the minute is the Bigsby on my Shine semi. Sooo much nicer than the Fender vibrato, a bit of delay on it or some phasing and it sounds positively sexy

I've got a Zoom multi pedal thing as well. My lack of being in a band means I rarely ever use it. I don't even plug into my amp any more.

I'm staggered that you can use that with a stand-alone amp... how do you think those push flower button-powered riffs would sound through a bloody great Marshall stack?
I bet Steve Howe from Yes and Johnny Marr already own one.
