Anybody else going to see Isis on Wednesday? Go on, you know it's the right thing to do.
On a completely unrelated subject, aren't Isis great? DiScuss.

Yes, Isis rock too hard. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Want to meet up again?

The amount of appreciation for Isis in this forum is slightly underwhelming.

Isis rock. I heard them being played loudly through a large PA in me and Rannraals' PARTY CHALET at ATP. It was powerful and loud. Kenneth banged his drunken head against the speaker. It was appropriate.
But I wasn't inspired to rush out and buy their albums. I've heard superloud post-rock before and it seems to me personally that many bands that fit into that category kinda blend together and maybe lack personality?
I'm not into emotional gut-punch euphoric waves of heavy noise right now. I go through musical phases. I am quite capricious I would say when it comes to music. I am currently appreciating naked, spare sounds, solo cello, single strong voices rising over near empty arrangements. Or as I was saying to -gen- from DiS the other night, solo people who bravely dive into life and come back with pearls of music.*
Maybe I will be in 'the mood' for Isis another time...
Loving Red Sparowes though.
*Gen is more into layered sound that contains the ideas of several people, giving you something to delve into, that allows further discovery upon repeated listening. Rather than that singular vision and perfection thing that I am currently into. Both are obviously very valid, and Isis are obviously masters of the former.

Saw them at Concorde 2 in Brighton last night. They were good, but I fear I may have over-listened to 'Panopticon'. The songs do less for me now.

I preferred the earlier stuff live too. If any of you are fly-by-night Isis fans for the love of god get Oceanic, and Celestial if possible too. 'The Other' almost made me have an accident just now.
Mother fucking hell. I'd totally forgotten how good this album is.
