All this talk of school is reminding me of when I was forced to do the 100m on sports day. I got a great start and went off ahead for about 5 steps, then I remember in slow motion that I reached my top speed while all the others kept accelerating and moved past me in a line with eachother. I went from glory to abject defeat in seconds and had to go over the line seconds after they had all finished. People laughed.
*sigh*
How humiliating.

haha! that reminds of when we were doing PE and we were practising the 100m, and my PE teacher gave me a head start so that i wouldn't be too far behind the others at the end. :

Classic school moment was when this guy called Chris Mason decided to attempt the hurdles in year 7, on sports day.
To put it diplomatically, he was a bit on the chubby side. Tha's very diplomtic of me.
Anyway, I've never seen such a display of will power in my life, it really was quite motivational. He tripped over every single hurdle, smashing down to the ground each time. Then he'd get up, and try the next one. Over and over again, untill he finished.

My favourite school moment was when some kid a few years below me made a huge banner saying 'Vince Capaldi (deputy-head teacher) is a CUNT! This boy then somehow got on to the roof of the tallest building at the school and unravelled it, it was bloody great. ;D

Vince Capaldi is a terrible name, and the banner wasn't lying...he is, in fact, a cunt. I'm glad someone thinks my name is cool...I generally get grief for it, mainly from fucking morons who usually ask me something like 'Are you fuckin' French or sumfink?'...morons.

Re school songs, I don't think we had one but my school did produce Simple Minds and Tra"fuckingshitty"vis.......................
Actually one of my old school mates is the bass player in Simple Minds now and they did have a few decent songs back in the day.

School was hell. Like the time we had to do diving forward rolls over people, and 1 was ok, and 2 was ok, but then it was 3 and I got nervous but I tried anyway but as I was about to jump I panicked and shut my eyes and kinda belly flopped over the 3 people and splatted flat on my front. It was a PR disaster, I can tell you. Good I can laugh about it now! haha I mean,

i skived sports day every year apart from the one year where i managed to avoid getting picked for anything although i wish i'd gone in Year 7 as my mate got full-on puked on, right on the top of his head. on the last day of school, people just threw eggs at the teachers. pretty unoriginal, but attempting to actually leave without being bombed turned going home into a military exercise.

My enduring memory of my last day of school is my middle-aged year head dancing to bhangra. It was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen in my life.
