so then - what's the longest time anyone's spent awake in one block?
my record is a paltry 29 hours, but in that 48 hour block i had 70 minutes sleep so it felt a lot worse.

I was awake for about 60 hours at a stretch back in November. That was unpleasant.

my record's about 30 hours. which is just so lame compared to wiggles. man, during that time, were you meditating to gain mental strength or something??!

I never spent more than 48 hours without any sleep, but I'd often go for months on about 2 or 3 hours sleep a night, and still do that for a week or so when I have a big event on. I seem to be less prone to insomnia now I'm busy all the time and drink less, but still never quite feel like I get enough sleep. Mmmm, sleep... I could really do with a nap now, actually, but got to write 3000 words by tomorrow. ah well. I think I can pencil in a full nights sleep around June sometime.

I've done 48 hours a couple of times. But I started to hallucinate.

I stopped drinking for 5 weeks in April 97 then fell off the wagon with a vengance. I'd been given a bung by The Halifax when they went plc or whatever, about £1700. Handing this to an unemployable alcoholic is asking for trouble...
I showed up at my mates, a real hardcore alkie, bearded cider monster. I had a case of Draught Guinness, about 3 litres of Piat D'or and a quarter. He had the usual cupboard full of cider. We did an allnighter and he fell asleep at some point the next day. I let myself out, bought more booze and went to visit another mate. Did the same with him, he fell asleep, I went back to the first guys, bought more booze and started all over again. When he fell asleep I realised I hadn't been home or slept for 3 days and had been drinking and smoking dope constantly for this time. Weird thing was that I was so fucked up with booze that I never even got really drunk during this, seemed to be just drinking myself sober.
A couple of weeks later I got another bung of £2250 from the council for enforced moving after my house was torched and condemned for demolition. That's a total of about 4 grand. I bought 2 guitars £95 and £135, a hifi seperates system at about £450 and pissed the rest up against the wall in a 2 month spree of booze, hash, black hackneys and takeaways, not recommended.
One of my mates decided that sleep was an unecessary con and did a week. Was going to visit and he was huddled in the corner with a sleeping bag wrapped round him with red rimmed crazyman eyes.

I recommend it. It means you sit in front of the computer at 5am with your arms wrapped round yourself, rocking backwards and forwards with drool dribbling from the corners of your mouth but it pays well

During my finals I got no sleep for three nights. About 70 hours awake I think. That was not fun. I couldn't hold a pen.

Anyone else use Proplus for those all nighters.
It's not so bad if you don't mind shaking all the time, the comedown is horrible though...

Pro-plus has no noticeable effect on me. Lots of too-strong coffee, and cigarettes (back when I used to smoke). Yup.
